Undoubtedly, the kitchen is the most visited place in the house. Whether it’s for a midnight snack or to cook a hurried breakfast, at any given point of time, there will be a family member in the kitchen. In short, the kitchen should reflect the mood of the house and its members. The most important part of any furnishing in the kitchen is the curtains. Depending on the curtain that you have in your kitchen, the look can vary. It can look cozy, elegant, spacious or warm.

While food is being prepared in the kitchen, the curtains will absorb very many fragrances that will eventually give out a stench. To keep things manageable, choose a curtain that is easy to wash and light enough to draw and pull them apart, if need be. Another thing you might want to keep in mind is match your curtains to the type of kitchen you have.

Modern Kitchen:

Contemporary curtains go fabulously well with a modern kitchen. The curtains are lightweight and are made from fabric, which allows the sunlight to enter the kitchen and provide better visibility. If you’re particular about your privacy, then you could go in for some thicker fabric to keep the peeping-toms at bay.

Country Kitchen:

The best part of a country kitchen is the wide variety of curtains you can choose from. The choices range from bright colours to shades from half lengths to full lengths. The icing on the cake here is the window valance that will nicely round off the look you’re going for. When selecting the fabric, go for cotton.

Roman Blinds:

Roman blinds are easy to maintain and very durable. The only issue some people might have is the cost; Roman blinds are a little expensive and unless you’re absolutely sure that’s what you want, don’t opt for them. Sticking around for ages, Roman blinds provide an elegant look to your kitchen. Every year, there are new patterns and colours emerging for Roman blinds.

If you’re feeling a little adventurous, you could try and sew your own curtains by referring to designs and patterns on the internet. Instead of cotton, go for a silk fabric or something along the lines of drapery, to facilitate easy stitching. Whether you buy or stitch your own curtains, choose wisely!
