WhatsApp does not have an official version for iPad, but there’s still a way around it to install WhatsApp on your iPad.

If you try to install WhatsApp directly on your iPad, you will get a message saying, “The app WhatsApp was not installed on the iPad because it is not compatible with this iPad”.

In this tutorial we will show you how to install WhatsApp messenger on iPad. It doesn’t require you to jailbreak your iPad or spend any money. The process is pretty straightforward.

Step 1:

Download WhatsApp’s official .ipa file for iPhone on your PC or Mac.

Step 2:

Connect your iPad to your PC or Mac.  iTunes doesn’t let you manage your files directly on your iPad. We will be using another free program – iFunbox to install WhatsApp and register our
app.

Open iFunBox.exe (Windows) or iFunBox.app (Mac OS). Click on iFunbox Classic. Make sure you see your iPad’s name in Connected Devices on the left panel.
Click on Install App and navigate to WhatsApp 2.11.8.ipa file which you downloaded in Step 1.

Viola, you now have Whatsapp on your iPad. If you go to your iPad, you will see a WhatsApp icon. There’s two more steps before you can start using Whatsapp on your iPad. If you click on the
icon, you will get a message saying “Sorry, your device is currently not supported”. We will fix this in next step.

Step 3:
On your iPhone, install WhatsApp the normal way by going to App Store and downloading the file (If you already have WhatsApp installed on your phone, you need to delete it and reinstall it
as we would be needing a fresh copy of WhatsApp). Once you have Whatsapp on your iPhone, click on the icon and follow the on-screen instructions to register a phone number and confirm it
using the verification code that they send you.

Unplug your iPad and plug in your iPhone into your Mac or PC and go back to iFunbox. Click on User Application on left panel, followed by clicking on WhatsApp messenger icon on right panel.
It will now show you Documents, Library and other folders. Simply copy the Documents and Library folder, right click on it and copy the files to your PC or Mac by using the “Send to PC
option”. These folders contain your registration data that you need to copy to your iPad to begin using it right away.

Step 4:

We are almost done. In this step, we will load the registration data on to the your iPad. Unplug your iPhone, Plug in your iPad, click on iFunBox, then on User Applications under the iPad’s
entry, and then WhatsApp – as you did before. Go back to your PC or Mac desktop where you stored Documents and Library folder, copy both the folders and replace/paste them in iFunbox’s
WhatsApp Folder. This can be done by simply dragging and dropping the files or by right click in right panel area and selecting “Copy from PC” option.

You are done! Close WhatsApp on your iPad if you had it previously opened. Click on WhatsApp icon and you should be good to use it.
