This is the reason why we’re going to help you make your pad totally fab in less than one hour with at least one of these 9 creative DIY room decorations. Let us know how your project turned out and leave us a pic in the comment section below!

1. Motivational Quote Letters

Now this is definitely a favorite on social media. Nothing brightens your day better than constantly reading an empowering quote that makes you want to get one step closer to accomplishing your goals. This DIY room decoration is super easy: just take a colorful magazine and rip out 1 page for every letter in your quote. Then take a pair of scissors and cut out a page-sized letter for each word. If you want clean font-like letters, just put the piece of magazine paper on your computer screen and trace the outline. Stick ‘em up with double-sided tape and enjoy!

2. Photo Clothesline

The photo clothesline is yet another popular choice for a family and friends-oriented individual. All you need is a string (color of your choice), clothespins and your favorite photos printed out or developed. Choose a wall space (somewhere around your bed works great) and place one or more lines of string one under the other, securing them to the wall on each side with thumbtacks. Choose the order of your pictures and attach each one with a clothespin to the string. For extra glam, use fairy lights instead of a string, or use both. If you want to get creative, use a different colored spray paint on each clothespin beforehand, letting them dry well.

3. Fairy Lights

This is one of the simplest and most effective touches you could give to your bedroom. Make your wall shine bright like a diamond with some super sweet fairy lights. If you’re not sure what fairy lights refer to, you should know that they’re simple white or yellow Christmas lights that you can leave on your wall all-year around for a beautiful glow. Use damage-free picture hangers to arrange the strings of lights, so you won’t leave holes in your wall. You can use multiple strings one below the other, or use them to border your ceiling. Get creative with this one and light up your bedroom with style!

4. Pillowcase Laundry Holder

This DIY room decoration is both stylish and useful at the same time. By hanging a pillowcase laundry holder to your door you will not only be saving space, but you will also be enjoying a forever-open laundry bag that looks great. All you have to do is attach a cute pillow case to a big embroidery hoop and hang it up. DIY specialists recommend at least a 14-inch diameter for the embroidery hoop, so you can fit in any types of clothes.  Enjoy your extra floor space!

5. Washi Tape Wall Deco

Washi tape is one of the most incredible inventions for DIY projects. There are loads of homemade decorations that you can pull off with it, and the great news is that it does not affect walls or the paint on them. Washi tape comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns, so you can choose whichever one you want for your project. You can make wall decorations just out of washi tape, or you can choose to make creative frames for your pictures. If you want to frame your photos, just stick them on the wall with double-sided tape and then make a border with your favorite washi tape color and pattern.

6. Homemade Bed Canopy

This is one of the most beautiful DIY projects we have on our list, but also probably the most complicated. No need to worry, it’s not impossible; it just takes a little bit more time. There are quite a few ways to carry it out, as well. You can opt for a hula hoop, a large embroidery ring or towel bars mounted on the ceiling and allowing tulle fabric to drape from them. Our favorite option involves mounting curtain bars to the ceiling all around the bed, for a super romantic and cozy setting.

7. Supply Jar

If you love DIY projects as much as we do, you probably have an awesome stash of art supplies, markers, pencils and all sorts of other goodies. What better way to organize them by making homemade supports? You can get your own creative supply jar in many ways, some as simple as just spray-painting it and painting on cute polka dots with a brush. This is another great situation in which you can use washi tape to make a multicolored jar with horizontal lines. You can also use pieces of lace or the fabric of your choice and decorate your jar. In the end, you’ll have a fantastic holder for all of your supplies that will brighten up your desk or nightstand.

8. Thumbtack Canvas

One of the best ways to have your own art hanging in your room is by creating a super cool thumbtack canvas. Just purchase any-sized canvas and spray paint the background whatever color you’d like. Afterwards, lightly trace out your favorite word(s), song lyrics or quote and then apply thumbtacks over the traced line. We recommend gold thumbtacks, as they look the best on any colored background. In the end, you’ll enjoy your own personal piece of artwork that you can hang up anywhere!

9. Decorative Pillow

An excellent tip for having an extra cozy room is to have lots, LOTS of pillows. Big, small, all of them. The more pillows you have on your bed, the more comfortable it will appear and actually be. If you want to get creative with your pillows, try spicing them up a bit yourself. Take a simple little white pillow, a can of spray paint in your color of choice, and a stencil or paint tape. You can use the paint tape to make chevron stripes that you can spray over for a cool pattern, or just spray over your favorite stencil for a super cute design. Have fun!
