Install Android OS On Your Computer (Windows, Mac, Linux)

One of the most common questions asked on forums is how to install an Android OS on a computer, be it Windows, Mac or Linux. Many will agree that the Android OS is best suited for phones, because it was developed for such devices. But there’s no harm in downloading it for the computer. There are several ways you can do this, but the best and most validated method is listed below, using VirtualBox. You’ll only be able to download the 4.0.4 version, as it’s the only one compatible, at the moment.

1. Download VirtualBox. Remember to download the version that is compatible with your current OS.

2. Once you’ve installed it, go to VMLite source and download the Android 4.0.4 OS for your computer. It will help to have a strong internet connection as the size of the file is around 88 MB and could take time to download.

3. After the Android OS file has been downloaded, extract it and look for a file named “Android-v4.vbox”. Once you locate it, double click on it. The file will be loaded in VirtualBox.

4. Click on the start button to begin installation.

5. It will begin to install the Android OS on your system, depending on the speed of your PC, will soon be ready to use.
