Short Flippy Hairstyles

Short Flippy Hairstyles

Short, flippy hairstyles can be worn by both the young and the old, and they’re a style that works for anyone who wants to have a touch of wildness about them. They tend to be no longer than bob length, but they can often be worn much shorter. As long as there’s enough hair to curl up and flip at the ends, it’s possible to wear.

Short, flippy hair can be worn in a number of different styles. Short bobs are ideal, particularly ones that are layered so the hair curls up and out from the face. It creates a bent spike, not unlike a horn, and it can be elegant and smooth or rough and choppy depending on your preferences. These hairstyles were popular in the 1960s when the flips were smooth, and in the 1980s the style was brought back and roughened up around the edges for more of an aggressive, punk look. While the flips at the ends of the hair were popular with older women in following decades, they’ve begun to trickle back down to the young as well. Seen among celebrities short, flippy hairstyles are starting to be worn by their fans as a form of imitation.
